Tenets/Belts

The five tenets of Tae Kwon-Do are what we try to live our lives by, both in and out of the dojang:
Courtesy
To be polite to your instructors, seniors and fellow students.
Integrity
To be honest with yourself. You must be able to define right from wrong.
Perseverance
To achieve a goal, whether it is a higher grade or any technique, you must not stop trying; you must persevere.
Self Control
To lose your temper when performing techniques against an opponent can be very dangerous and shows lack of control.
To be able to live, work and train within your capability shows good self control.
Indomitable spirit
To show courage; when you and your principles are pitted against overwhelming odds.
BELTS
WHITE
Signifies a stage of innocence such as that of the novice student with no prior knowledge of Tae Kwon-do.
YELLOW
Yellow signifies the earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the Tae Kwon-do Foundation is being laid.
GREEN
Green signifies the plants growth as the student's skills begin to develop
BLUE
Blue signifies the Heaven towards which the plant matures into a towering tree.
RED
Red signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise self control, and warning the opponent to stay away.
BLACK
Black is the opposite of white, signifying both maturity and proficiency in Tae Kwon-do. It also symbolises the wearer's imperviousness to darkness.
